Patient Care Technician (270 contact hours)
The Patient Care Technician is multi-facted skills training to prepare students to function in the traditional nurse aid role in nursing center, hospitals, and home care agencies. This comprehensive program will focus on training Certified Nursing Aids for Patient Care, phlebotomy and EKG technicians, with emphasis on infection control procedures, quality assurance, medical law and ethics as well as advanced anatomy and physiology and other special testing procedures. The Patient Care technician will be ready to work in a hospital care facility, doctor’s office and skilled Nursing/Rehabilitation centers upon graduation of the program. Satisfactory academic progress is measured in credit hours. Student must complete twelve (12) credit hours to graduate.
