Medical Billing And Coding Specialist Training (270 Contact Hours/17 Credits)

Our Program
NCI’s Billing and Coding Specialist program will prepare you to code patients’ medical records accurately. You will be taught current terminology, proper classification of diseases, and how to find and apply codes to medical records. In addition, you will learn techniques to help maximize reimbursement from insurance companies, work with worker’s compensation, access diagnosis-related groups, and much more. Upon completion of the program, students are encouraged to take the National Certification Examination for additional credentials.
Coursework
To obtain your undergraduate certification as a billing and coding specialist, you must complete 17 credit hours. You must complete the following courses:
- Anatomy and Physiology (6 credit hours)
- Medical Office Procedures (6 credit hours)
- Billing and Coding (5.5 credit hours)
