Short-Term Entry Level: An educational course designed to provide short-term training for a specific entry-level career with skills development and experience that lead to workplace competencies. These programs are included in the NJ State Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL), and are not on the Council on Educational Occupation (COE) approved program list:
Electrical Assistant (320 contact hours)
This program prepares the students to enter the industry as an Electrical Assistant and Electrician’s helper. Students in this program are taught industrial, commercial and residential wiring, motor control and theory consistent with the National Electrical Code. Electrical safety including proper use of tools and equipment are stressed during the course. All safety classes are performed to standards according to OSHA’s rules and regulations. Instruction ranges from electrical theory to installation and repair of power apparatus, conductors and various types of switching devices. Students will be able to interpret the National Electrical Code.
