Comprehensive Programs: An educational program designed to provide a sequence of educational and skill development experiences that lead to multiple workplace competencies. These programs are considered occupational programs and are included in the institutional self-study, FTE Calculation and student achievement data collection, and are included on the Council on Educational Occupation (COE) approved program list. About National Career Institute

At NCI, we offer hands-on training from qualified instructors who have experience working in the field they teach. Our classes are typically made up of about 20 students each, so you’ll get the attention you need from your teacher to ensure your success. Upon successful completion of our program, you will be ready to go to work in your new career. Also, NCI will help with career placement and an interview wardrobe. Our Program

NCI’s Medical Billing and Coding Specialist program will prepare you to code patients’ medical records accurately. You will be taught current terminology, proper classification of diseases, and how to find and apply codes to medical records. In addition, you will learn techniques to help maximize reimbursement from insurance companies, work with worker’s compensation, access diagnosis-related groups, and much more. Upon completion of the program, students are encouraged to take the National Certification Examination for additional credentials.

Coursework

To obtain your undergraduate certification as a medical billing and coding specialist, you must complete 17 credit hours. You must complete the following courses:

Anatomy and Physiology (6 credit hours)
Medical Office Procedures (6 credit hours)
Billing and Coding (5.5 credit hours)
